Cricketer Suresh Raina, singer Guru Randhawa, interior designer Sussanne Khan along with a few other celebrities were booked during a raid at the DragonFly club near Mumbai airport.

Mumbai Police reported that 34 persons, including cricketer Suresh Raina and others, were booked under Section 188 (Disobedience to order duly promulgated by the public servant), 269 (whoever unlawfully or negligently commits any act that is, and that he knows or has reason to believe to be, likely to spread the infection of any disease dangerous to life), 34 (Acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of IPC and provisions of NMDA.

Ahead of the New Year, the Maharashtra government has imposed a series of restrictions on public activity in the state, and in particular in Mumbai from 22 December to 5 January as a precautionary step.

DCP (Zone II) Rajiv Jain was on night round-up duty when he received a tipoff that the club was open. Jain, along with a Gamdevi police inspector and Sahar policemen, raided it.
“Action was initiated against 27 customers, including Raina, Randhawa, Khan and others, for violating prohibitory orders (for the pandemic),” said Jain.
